Red Socks Pugie
Recently caught the vapors of The Foals, the five man troupe from Oxford England who have got it to-gether. The video is for “Red Socks Pugie,” a single set for release next month on the 9th. We’re not sure what pugie means (not a term thrown around too often on the streets of Bushwick) and we’re not sure if it’s in reference to the actual Boston Red Soxs, but if in any capacity, they are dissing the Red Soxs (which we can only hope for), then we give this joint extra special endorsements (especially in lieu of how the Yankees have been playing). But from the music videos incorporating Cold War era imaging, giving it that artsy “this is cool” effect, to a super fantastic home page web design, all the way to one of the band member’s inclusion in a Burberry catalogue… oh yes, and the music is good too, these guys are coming correct in full form.
Also not to get all backpackery on you, but the track has a drum break that would’ve made Afrika Bam bust a windmill. Instead, we can only assume this drum break got the people at Burberry shaking their ass, later inspiring the call to get dude in the catalogue.
