Here’s a new artist I’ve just been hipped to by an album review in the latest issue of Remix Magazine.  Representing São Paulo Brazil, Curumin makes some incredible soul-infused samba with dub, electronic and hip hop influences.  I’ve including the track “Esperanca.”  If you like what you hear, visit his myspace page for more heat.

I remember reading about the Knux. I liked them. I listened to their music on Myspace. They only have one track up called “Cappuccino” and there’s also a remix of it on their page now. I got excited about them.  They had a good sound.  But then, alas, my excitement fizzled with time.  I haven’t heard much from them lately.  But then I was thinking, “Hey, what ever happened to those guys who used to run a pretty serious sounding stolen car ring in New Orleans (of course all in the name of thier mama)?”  So in remembrance of the day I was excited about them, I’ll share the video to “Cappuccino.”

I’m not sure who made it more annoying first, Akon or T Pain but the VoiceBox vocals propelled from R&B hook to raps recently when Wayne dropped “Lollipop” … ga-ga-ga-garbage. And then Snoop went as soft as he’s ever been on “Sensual Seduction” using that thing on a whole new level of cheese. We just caught wind of the remix that Kanye jumped on over at HipHopDX. Give a listen as another superstar reaffirms for us just how wack the Voice Box really is… although, I’ll say this now; give a few weeks or months and this song is going to become so insidius, my snapping fingers are going to automatically gonna fly up in the air when I hear this beat coming out a set of speakers.

After posting about Jose James yesterday, we corresponded with his good people at Brownswood.  They hipped us to his new video for the track “Park Bench People” which was shot (at least) partly in Greenpoint… And in certain shots, he sorta looks like our ATL homie Senor Kaos.
